TERMS OF SERVICE

Quarterly invoices are mailed the first week of April, July, October, and January, approximately 25 days before payment is due. Invoices are due and payable on receipt. Payments are applied to the oldest balance. Finance charge will be assessed monthly if payment is not received by the invoice due date.

Per the office of the Maine State Treasurer, effective March 1, 2021, interest will be charged 6% per annum on all past due accounts, down from 8% per annum in 2020. This interest rate is subject to change yearly.

Mail is collected Monday through Friday and payments are applied the same day. Should mail be delayed or returned to us for any reason, this will not be considered an excuse for failure to pay or reversal of finance charge.

The water readings used for billing are obtained from the East Vassalboro Water Company and Kennebec Water District. Credit will not be given for over use, possible leakage, etc., unless we receive word from the water companies there was a discrepancy in their readings.

Online payments can be made via our website at www.vsdistrict.com. When selecting the City/Town, choose Vassalboro Sanitary District – not the Town of Vassalboro. There is a $1.00 processing fee for transactions up to $40.00 and a 2.5% processing fee for transactions over $40.00, which is provided by State of Maine PayPort Online service. Allow up to 5 business days for your payment to be applied to your account.

If the quarterly invoice remains three months past due, a lien will be placed against your name for collection.
