Dear Vassalboro Sanitary District Customers,
We are excited to announce that the Vassalboro Sanitary District has partnered with Watershed Maine to provide bookkeeping, customer service and billing expertise. Watershed Maine, headquartered in Richmond, is a statewide entity offering managerial and financial assistance to Maine's water and wastewater utilities.

For assistance, please call Customer Service at 207-872-7263. If you are experiencing an emergency and need assistance after office hours or on a weekend, call 207-380-4261.
The Maine Payport system will be unavailable for online payments after March 27, 2026.
The Vassalboro Sanitary District does accept Credit/Debit Card payments made over the telephone. Payment can be made via (207) 817-2225. Please note, this is still an automated third-party service and an additional service fee of 2.95% will be assessed. Customers must have their account number and balance available in order to use this service.
Bills are due upon receipt or within 25 days of the postmarked date. Accounts with outstanding balances are subject to interest not to exceed the highest lawful rate set by the Treasurer of State for municipal taxes and are subject to lien procedures according to State of Maine Title 38 §1208.

Quarterly invoices are mailed the first week of April, July, October, and January, approximately 25 days before payment is due. Invoices are due and payable on receipt. Finance charge will be assessed monthly if payment is not received by the invoice due date. Payments are applied to the oldest balance.
Per the office of the Maine State Treasurer, interest will be charged 7.0% per annum on all past due accounts. This interest rate is subject to change yearly.
The water readings used for billing are obtained from the East Vassalboro Water Company and Kennebec Water District.
If the quarterly invoice remains 90 days past due a lien will be placed against your name for collection.
