Finance charge will be assessed monthly if payment is not received by the invoice due date. Payments are applied to the oldest balance.
Per the office of the Maine State Treasurer, finance charge will be charged 8% per annum on all past due accounts. Finance charge will change to the maximum State allowable rate when posted by the State of Maine Treasurer.
Mail is collected Monday through Thursday and payments are applied the same day. Should mail be delayed, returned to us for any reason, or you did not receive the invoice from the U.S. Postal Service, this will not be considered an excuse for failure to pay or reversal of finance charge.
The water readings used for billing are obtained from the East Vassalboro Water Company and Kennebec Water District. Credit will not be given for overuse, possible leakage, etc., unless we receive word from the water companies there was a discrepancy in their readings.
